The client’s brief
The client had purchased a plot to build a detached house. Their first request concerned the project’s feasibility: utility connections, site access and infrastructure, and a ground investigation. They had already commissioned plans for their future home.
My role as a building works broker
I supported the client in preparing the project, then introduced the tradespeople and geotechnical and concrete structural engineering consultancies needed for the different work packages. These proposals took account of the house plans and the client’s budget limits. I then maintained regular communication between the client and the tradespeople through to handover.

- Introducing tradespeople for the construction work packages, based on the plans the client had already commissioned and their budget.

Site supervision entrusted to a construction project manager
Site supervision was entrusted to a construction project manager. My role as a broker was to introduce professionals suited to the project and budget, then maintain communication between the client and the tradespeople throughout the work.
